Public Dialogue on H1N1 Vaccination Program
Source: NFDA Bulletin
Posted August 13, 2009
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has invited the public to voice their opinions in a two-day Web dialogue on the H1N1 vaccination program. The goal is to solicit input on its voluntary fall vaccination program against the 2009 H1N1 flu virus. Two identical dialogues are scheduled: August 26-27 and August 31-September 1.
During the dialogue, participants will discuss, deliberate and offer input as the CDC helps state and local health organizations develop the vaccination program. Participants are expected to review background materials about H1N1, thoughtfully discuss values and priorities, and provide input through a survey, poll and evaluation.
Please note: This Web dialogue does not concern prophylaxis vaccinations that will be given to certain health professionals and first-line responders; separate guidelines will be issued for those persons. These dialogues concern vaccinations for the general public. Some of the strategies the CDC is considering include: making the vaccinations available to those who seek immunization, promoting the vaccine to those most at risk and implementing a wide-spread immunization program.
If you are willing to participate fully, you are welcome to make your voice heard. Please visit the following Web site - www.webdialogues.net/H1N1 - for more information or to register. Space is limited. The CDC is also holding in-person meetings in 10 selected communities this month. More information about these meetings can be found in the link above.
