IFDA Annual Convention
A three-day event that allows members to learn from highly respected leaders in the funeral profession, discover new products and services offered by cutting-edge suppliers, and network with funeral directors from throughout the state.
In 2024, the Convention will be April 15-18 at Prairie Meadows Convention Center in Altoona, Iowa.
District Meetings
District meetings provide members with quality, pre-approved continuing education programs at no cost while allowing you to network with friends and colleagues in your area. District meeting notices are sent out in the mail, placed in the Insider and reminders are emailed and texted to members.
Annual OSHA Training
Generally held in the late fall, IFDA hosts OSHA Training annually via webinar.
All employees at funeral homes are required by OSHA to be trained in bloodborne pathogens, formaldehyde exposure, and hazard communications. Yes, the training is MANDATORY! The Occupational Safety and Health Administration requires annual training for all “at risk” or “potentially at risk” funeral home employees, managers and owners. All funeral home employees, trade people and other contractors who work in or around the embalming room, or directly with bodies or the effects of the deceased, must have this training.
Online Continuing Education Courses
