Communiqué
The IFDA’s interactive online magazine is dedicated to providing the latest and most relevant Iowa-specific information, making it a unique and valuable resource. Inside, you can explore articles on industry trends that directly impact Iowa funeral directors, get insights into your colleagues’ experiences, leverage new IFDA membership services, and gain a deeper understanding of how fellow members view current topics. This is a digital, quarterly publication with one annual print copy following the convention each year.
IFDA Insider
An exclusive weekly digital newsletter for IFDA members only. This newsletter allows members to stay up-to-date on things going on in the funeral profession in the state of Iowa or nationwide. Members with news to share are encouraged to send us articles they feel other members would be interested in as well. This publication is scheduled to be released every Friday morning between 7 – 9 am.
Membership Directory & Buyer’s Guide
A comprehensive list of IFDA members by city, firm, name, and funeral service suppliers who support IFDA. This is a digital publication, updated yearly, and available ONLY to members. Your information is never shared for solicitation purposes.
Communication & General Notices
Receive time-sensitive information quickly through your email. Special Edition IFDA Insiders, memorial and service information for members, and public relations announcements are sent to members.
Members Only Website Content
Membership gains you access to the Members Only areas of the IFDA website, your top resource for membership, products, and services information. The IFDA website is always up-to-date and available to you day and night.
ADVOCACY
Members have the opportunity to participate in and benefit from state and national representation with IFDA’s grassroots efforts. You may participate by volunteering your time as a Legislative Committee member, contacting your representatives when notified of issues that affect your profession, or contributing to the PAC, which helps support pro-funeral service legislative candidates.
CONTINUING EDUCATION
Annual IFDA Convention
A three-day event that allows members to learn from highly respected leaders in the funeral service industry, discover new products and services offered by cutting-edge suppliers, and network with funeral directors from throughout the state. In 2026 through 2028, the Convention will be at Prairie Meadows Casino, Racetrack, & Hotel in Altoona, IA. Click here for more details.
Regional and District Meetings
Regional or district meetings provide members with quality, continuing education credits at no cost while allowing you to network with friends and other professionals in your area. You will have the opportunity to attend these meetings throughout the year.
Online Continuing Education Courses
As an IFDA member, you can access recorded classes from past conventions and required OSHA training. IFDA has teamed with FuneralCE®, a service of WebCE®, to offer online continuing education courses for funeral professionals. These online CE courses for funeral professionals provide instant results and feedback, unlimited retakes, and online certificates of completion.
